JUST IN CASE - Branding for the end of the world

by MENOSUNOCEROUNO

Anonymous: hey there! i'm transferring to ramapo in the fall - how do i join this club? what do you guys normally do as a club?

Hello! To join the club all you have to do is show up to meetings! You can also join our orgsync page and you’ll start getting emails about what we’re up to.

We have a bunch of traditional events we participate in each year:

-Design Derby (which we won for the past 4 years!) is a competition among NJ state schools and is kind of like a Project Runway episode - we show up, get a client and design brief and then get a short amount of time to complete the challenge before we present and are judged.

-We also take a trip to the National Design archives at the AIGA NY building.

-We always attend the Thinking Creatively Conference at Kean University every year

-Our biggest event is Media Collision, a school sponsored event that the club is in charge of coordinating and designing.

Other than that we try and do whatever new activities people bring up! We’re always look for new ideas!

Media Collision Update!

Hey guys! Here’s what we have right now for the different MC characters and poster copy…post any ideas for improvements on the taglines!

Journalism: tight rope walker - walking the deadline
Film: magician - enter the illusion
Global Comm: Strongman - The world’s problems on their shoulders
Design: x-acto swallower - always on the cutting edge
Writing: fortune teller - in charge of your destiny

Anonymous: Anonymous, is your caps lock key broken? How about some positivity, I didn't see any 'big' ideas from you.

Oh snap. Let’s keep it civil!

Anonymous: I think that "think big" is a great idea for the event... If you only want 2 people to participate like the previous year. That isn't "creative" and even if the way you convey it is interesting, it still has been done here before and fairly recently. Why don't you do something that will get people interested? Why don't you do something that is big in pop culture right now, like based off of the Hunger Games? Something like that would attract more than just the CA students. Be creative.

Hey! We’re definitely open to all types of ideas. If you think “big” isn’t something that’s going to pull people in that’s fine, but a Hunger Games theme seems to be a little limited in terms of audience -  however, it’s definitely something to consider. If you think of anything else let us know. We’ll keep brainstorming. Thanks for the input!
